Meet Joleen Fetter.

Like another Forge3 team member, I went to Kutztown University and studied communication and design. However, I ended up graduating from Devry in 2012 with my bachelor’s in multimedia and a concentration in web. Devry gave me my first taste of remote work and led me towards a career as a freelancer with a focus in web, graphic, and UX design.

While I got to collaborate on some exciting ventures over the years, I started to notice I was spreading myself a bit thin. As much as I enjoyed having the freedom and challenges that come with a freelancer lifestyle, the phrase “jack of all trades, master of none” ran through my mind on several occasions. My decision to pursue a position at Forge3 came from the desire to be remote, refine my skills, and feel like part of a team. There is no denying, Forge3 has a unique dynamic, and when I found their listing for a Visual Designer, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

I currently reside in Adamstown, PA, with my husband, Jordan, and our dog, Fudge. I have been married over two years; however, Jordan and I have been together for over ten. After I completed school, my husband got a degree in respiratory therapy. And when both of our college journeys ended, we decided to wed just one day after Jordan’s graduation. It was quite the challenge, though I’m still not sure who had it worse! And now we are just enjoying life. My husband is quite the music enthusiast and comes from an extremely talented family with two of his brothers and his father all in bands. So, much of our free time includes us going to see them play at local venues.

More about me, I’m a little bit of a sci-fi nerd and movie buff. My favorite film? Don’t have one, but give me a genre and I’ll try and narrow it down. I also like a good book, one of my favorite authors is Haruki Murakami, but a good fantasy series is what I enjoy best, and am currently waiting for a few to finish (Game of Thrones, anyone?)! I like to sew, draw, and paint, and am down for trying just about anything that involves a bit of crafting. To counter all of my sitting activities, I like to go for lots of walks and the occasional hike.

I am incredibly grateful that Forge3 took a chance on me, and in return, will continue to work hard and strive to make amazing ActiveAgency website designs every day!
