Meet Melissa Marzan.

I’m Melissa. If I could describe myself in a few words, I would say I’m a proud mama, truth-seeker, and coffee fanatic who knows that I can do anything I set my mind to. That mentality came from a journey of self-discovery when I decided to complete my education later in life, having the odds stacked against me. I was a new mother with full-time employment and taking on full-time courses! My goal was to improve the quality of life for my family while finding fulfillment in my work. So, I embarked on a journey to be my own hero and put in work to get exactly what I wanted out of life. No excuses! Today, I am proud to say I am a 2019 graduate from Southern New Hampshire University with my Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

I’ve always had my hands involved in a creative project. I grew up in an Italian family where there were lots of celebrations, food, and traditions! Most importantly, I had a practical grandmother who made anything she touched special. Now that I’m an adult, I am the go-to girl in my family. I keep traditions alive and have a niche for planning, organizing, and entertaining. Need to plan a birthday party with a unique theme? I’m your girl. Who’s hosting the holidays this year? Me! Throwing a baby shower? I got you! In fact, I’ve hosted four baby showers in the past year and a half! It brings me joy to have the ability to create memories through baking, decorating, crafting, and planning events and celebrations.

I’ve also had the chance to express my creativity in the digital landscape. I’ve spent some time learning about web design and development and use Adobe apps to make custom cards and invitations. This past year, I learned the art of copywriting at a digital marketing agency, and I’ve enjoyed writing poetry, as well as taking creative writing courses in my spare time. Between my skills gained from 15+ years in the service industry and my enthusiasm for researching, organizing, and carrying out plans, I think it’s been my destiny to be a Content Manager all along! My hope here at Forge3 is that any project I have a part in brings the same joy to my clients that I aim to create in my personal life.

In my spare time and on weekends you can find me doing things a typical mom in her 30s does, such as taking meaningless trips to Target, trying my hand at home improvement projects, hoping I’ll make it to the gym, planning play dates, and prepping healthy meals (which I never end up eating). I also enjoy cozying up with a glass of wine and watching romance dramas that take place between the 16th and 18th centuries. One of my favorite movies is The Dutchess. I am also a big fan of anything nostalgic from the ‘90s, and consider myself an “elder millennial.” During the summer you can find me at the beach!
