How we rock at Forge3

By April 30, 2014 August 20th, 2016 One Comment

Right now, we’re rocking to 92.7 WEOW FM, broadcasting live from the sunny Florida Keys. If I close my eyes, I can almost feel the ocean breezes and hear the waves crashing next to me. Reality check, though! I’m still sitting at my desk here at our Forge3 offices in rainy Lehigh Valley, PA. What’s our secret? Sonos.

A few months ago, we installed Sonos, a great little music system that we control through our smartphones, tablets and computers. We can sync the entire office so we’re all jamming to the same tunes (great for a Friday!) or separate individual offices into their own zones with different music playing in each. It’s very cool.

From country to 90s, alternative to classic rock, Sonos allows us to select from a vast collection of music – integrating Pandora radio, local radio stations (from anywhere!) and playlists from our iTunes music collection. So, the selection is virtually limitless. It’s also extremely easy to use with the free apps they provide.

Don’t judge us

So, in light of our new Sonos friend, we thought it would be fun to share a few of our go-to tunes. Let us know if we mention your favorite in the comments below. Here we go!

Jeff’s Pick – Day for the Dead by Zac Brown Band

I’m a fan of musicians who write their own songs and play their own instruments. Right now, I’m digging the authentic rock-meets-country sound of the new Zac Brown Band EP titled The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1. “Day for the Dead” is my current go-to. I bet it’s great live.

Marissa’s Pick – Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae

“Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams” has always been one of my favorite lines of a song. I first discovered the song “Put Your Records On” in college when I was waiting in orientation. It was a new venture for me, and since then this song has always pushed me to try new things.

Monika’s Pick – Empire State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys

Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, I love the attitude behind “Concrete jungle where dreams are made of.” New York is the land of dreams, energy and possibility. When I need a boost, this tune does it!
