My name is Monika Baraket and I am the not-so-new Chief Production Officer here at Forge3. In fact, I’ve been around for over 8 years!
In 2009, after a successful, decade-long career in consultative sales, marketing and management, I started a small marketing consulting firm. Shortly after that I met my largest client, Forge3. Over the years, I worked closely with Forge3 as a contractor in a variety of roles and eventually became a crucial member of the team—playing an integral role in the development and launch of the company’s flagship product, ActiveAgency.
As the ActiveAgency product grew, so did my involvement with Forge3. And as the saying goes, the rest is history.
Recently (in September of 2018) I took the leap to become an official Forge3 team member. As Jeff (our Founder and CEO) would tell it, this was his plan all along but I had to be sure that I liked him enough to really commit! After 8 years working alongside him, I figured it was a safe bet.
Fast forward to today and I am thrilled to be leading an amazing team of designers, project managers, content managers and digital marketing account managers who are part of the Forge3 Production Team. We like each other, we support each other and most importantly, we have fun doing what we do.
Here’s a photo of most of the Production Team goofing around before our Spa Day at The Spa at Hotel Hershey.
But enough about work! Here’s a bit more about ME.
I was born in Warsaw, Poland and immigrated to the United States when I was 10 years old. My family initially landed in Brooklyn, New York and moved to the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania when I was 16.
Here’s a photo of my mom and me in Zakopane, Poland in 1980.
And this was my first month in America! I spent the summer in Ellenville, New York.
I’ve been married to my hubby, Ken, for 16 years and we have two awesome boys together. Matt is 14 and a Freshman in high school and Lucas is 6 and in 1st grade. They keep me busy with all of their sports activities. If you’re ever wondering where I am when I am not working, it’s likely in a gym watching basketball, on the field watching football or freezing in an ice hockey rink! It’s a crazy schedule but I enjoy every minute of it. I am very competitive and really get into the games so staying quiet is quite a challenge for me!
I enjoy Polish food, but I prefer Italian and Mexican. I can cook much better Italian and Mexican too! However, I do have a strange obsession with a specific brand of Polish pretzels that my grandmother sends me from Poland every single year—an entire case!
It’s a crazy obsession, and you either love them or hate them, but I’ve been eating these pretzels since I was one year old!
This is my all time favorite dish—Kopytka. My grandma prepared it special for me when I visited Poland May of 2018.
This is my lovely grandma who waited over 10 years to see me! I surprised her with a visit to Poland.
When I have some downtime, here are some things I enjoy:
- Watching football (we’re huge Pittsburgh and Penn State Fans)
- Crocheting (I’ve made hats, scarves, baskets and even sweaters)
- …and a lot more!
I’m really excited about my future at Forge3. I’ve seen this company grow tremendously over the last 8 years and I feel that we have unlimited potential. We have the right people, the right product and the right attitude. I’m truly grateful to be part of something this great.
