A few months ago, my co-worker Emily shared an inside look into her life as a location-independent Forge3’er. Now it’s my turn!

When I first started working at Forge3, I didn’t know if I would thrive in a location-independent environment. I was afraid it would make me anti-social or disconnected from my team.

After working at Forge3 for a few months, I quickly learned that this was not the case. In fact, it was pretty much the opposite!

Each Forge3 team member works a little bit differently, but with a combination of diligence, commitment and passion, we’re all able to make a remote work culture possible for Forge3.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how I do it… Read More

Reputation. It’s the one word I use most often with our Forge3 team.

To me, there’s nothing more important than maintaining our reputation in the industry. It’s taken 14 years to build, person-by-person, and it’s our #1 focus in everything that we do.

Reputation is more than a product or service. It’s more than great customer service. It’s more than being fast to respond to calls and emails. It’s more because it’s all of that.

I’ve seen many in our industry launch, grow, become complacent and die. They lose their mojo. They stop innovating. Service suffers. And, often times, their clients come to us as the beacon on the hill. Astonishing, isn’t it? ;) Read More

Ashley's Angle - New apps for insurance agencies

Ashley’s Angle: New apps for insurance agencies

By Ashley's Angle, Insurance, Social Media

Call me cliché—but there truly is something refreshing and motivating about the new year.

Yes, I wrote a post on LinkedIn a while back about not waiting until January 1 to set goals. BUT… now that 2018 is in full swing, it’s a great time to reflect on the past year’s successes and challenges, and really think about goals you want to crush in the coming months.

Maybe you want to focus on fostering client relationships. Or, maybe your goal is to work on establishing creditability. Or—I think this is on everyone’s list at some point throughout the year—perhaps your goal is to save time.

Whatever your goals are for the new year, the following are three apps that I’ve come to love over the past few months. My guess is that they’ll come in handy as you work on your goals and resolutions! Read More

We made it! Welcome to 2018, the best year yet.

I’m not big on new year’s resolutions, but we did get a Peloton bike for Christmas. It’s pretty slick. It has a big touchscreen attached to it where you can stream live or recorded spin classes. If you have one, look me up. I’m pmjeff. Game on!

Anyway, on this morning’s ride, Jess King, one of the spin instructors, said,

“Put in the work when no one is watching.”

So true. Successful people are not lucky. There’s no such thing as overnight success. It takes time, patience and pure-grit hustle. Such is the case with SEO. Read More

“Red Bull of Insurance: Every agent needs this conference in their life. The attendees. The staff. The speakers. All incredible. Want to get pumped up about the insurance industry again? Sign up for 2018 now and don’t miss out again.”

That was my review of Agency Nation’s 2017 Elevate conference this year. I affectionately dubbed this conference the “Red Bull of Insurance.”

It was eye opening. It was informative. It got my heart racing. It was a blast. And most of all—it got me fired up and motivated to get back to the office and make moves. Read More

“The only thing in life I set the bar low for is limbo.” —Michael Scott

Let me set the stage…

You’re at an interview for a new job. Sitting across from you is the boss. They’re successful, put together, dressed to the nines—basically they’re in the position want to be in someday. You’re excited, eager and pumped to get started, change the world and kick some ass.

And then, the boss looks you straight in the eye and says, “You’re probably going to hate the first year of this job.”

Talk about being deflated.

This is where your next move will make or break you. How will you let that statement affect you? Read More
