Ashley's Angle - Fitzsimmons Insurance Agency's perspective on ActiveAgency (from the client's view)

Let me preface this with: Forge3 had nothing to do with me wanting to write this article. I’m known to write about things I feel passionate about. It just so happens that this month, I’m feeling passionate about Forge3.

So, I’m going to give you a behind-the-scenes, exclusive look at what it takes for an insurance agency to get up and running on the ActiveAgency website platform. It’s a lot simpler than you might think!

Our agency’s pre-website era.

It’s kind of ironic. I’ve spoken at conferences on the power of leveraging your social media accounts. I’ve written articles about apps, tips and tricks you can use to create more appealing posts. And yet up until this year, our agency didn’t have a website.

I know. Take it in. When you pick your jaw up off the floor, please continue reading.

Websites are intimidating. In an industry like insurance that never seems to slow down, a website was something that was on our agency’s radar—but it was in the FAR back corner of our radar. The corner way in the back where you try to hide miscellaneous items that you don’t really have time and energy for right now.

Taking the insurance website plunge.

I realized this year that needed to change. Technology is changing. Insurance is changing. And it’s not going to wait for me to get my act together and get a website.

So I did it. I pulled the trigger and reached out to Jeff. It was time. Just sending the email to start the process in general was exciting. I felt like I took ten steps in the right direction.

Until the anxiety kicked in.

What am I getting myself into? I have more than enough on my plate as it is. Like—my plate is Chinese buffet full.

Getting the process started.

That anxiety quickly went away when Rose, my account manager, gave me a call. The entire process was incredibly easy. It didn’t consume a ton of time. The designers listen to you and take simple suggestions to create something wonderful and individual to your agency.

Regardless if you’re a small or large insurance agency, a website can be a daunting task. Forge3 takes that daunting task, laughs at it, and crushes it.

The CliffsNotes version of the ActiveAgency process.

  1. You make the awesome and necessary decision to start the process.
Whether you don’t have a site at all or you want to revamp your current site–just do it.
  2. You e-sign the contract and then the magic begins.
  3. An account manager will reach out to you.
Chat on the phone for a few minutes and get an idea of what you’re looking for. They will send you a form to fill out about your agency. This will be the most time consuming portion for you–however it doesn’t take long! My advice to you–don’t let it overwhelm you. Just type down ideas and let Forge3 take it from there. Also keep in mind that nothing is permanent! Everyone is great with communication and you can always make changes!
  4. They take your information and get to work.
A few weeks later you’ll receive the super-exciting email that your site is ready to be reviewed!
  5. Review it. Change it. Love it. Get it up and running.

It sounds simple, right? That’s because it is. Forge3 knows insurance and that makes it that much easier for them to do such an amazing job.

As I write this, our website is just about finished. I can’t wait to show it to you and the world.
